Yellow Lease Farm
The extensions to this historic farmhouse located within the East Boldon Conservation area won an award from South Tyneside Good Design Award Scheme for Building Conversion in 2006.
The Assessors Comments
This Award demonstrates how a carefully considered scheme to extend an historic building, located in a sensitive area can be successfully achieved. Whilst the extensions aknowledge the historic detailing and materials of the original farmhouse, their scale and form provides a clear distinction between the old and the new. (Design by Dean J Aapes)
My thanks to Les Milne of the Awards Team for the picture and information.
