Scots house
West Boldon
West Boldon
I am told that Scot's House has been mentioned in records under slightly different versions of the name, since the 13th. century but the earliest reference I have seen is in the "History of Durham" by R. Surtees which was published in 1820. In 1381 it was referred to as Scottes House when the freehold was held by Richard Hedworth while in 1820 it was referred to as Scotshouse when it was held by John de Hedworth.
