Kay moved into East Boldon 18 years ago when she relocated to take up a post as a Customer Service Manager with BT in Sunderland. 8 years ago she gave up this job to become a full time Belly Dancer.
Kay is one of the few fully qualified professional belly dancers in the UK. When she left BT she went to study in Cairo before coming back to follow her dream.
Kay travels regularly to Cairo where she takes groups of belly dancers
to study and see the dance scene there. She has trained most of the belly dance teachers in the North East and has designed the one and only accredited Belly Dance Teacher Training course in the UK.
Kay teaches throughout the UK at many major festivals but her heart remains in the North East.
She runs regular Belly Dance classes at East Boldon Methodist Church Hall on a Monday night.
